Harvard Business School [HBS] responded to FOX Business Network’s Charlie Gasparino’s inquiries regarding convicted Ponzi scheme architect Bernie Madoff’s claims that the school is building “an entrepreneurial course” around him. A spokesperson for HBS tells Gasparino “a professor there is working with Bernie Madoff; not about developing an entrepreneurial course” but “doing independent research on scamsters like Bernie Madoff to see what makes them tick.” Excerpts from the report can be found below, courtesy of Fox Business Network:
Harvard Business School’s response to Bernie Madoff’s claims they are planning a course around him:
“Harvard is coming clean about Bernie Madoff. Harvard is now conceiting to the FOX Business Network that a professor there is working with Bernie Madoff; not about developing an entrepreneurial course. Harvard tells FOX Business this one professor is doing independent research on scamsters like Bernie Madoff to see what makes them tick. They are keeping his name and his research confidential. Harvard denied outright that it had any communications with Madoff. We kept pushing, largely because Madoff kept emailing, and we found out they did have communications. All good liars mix a little bit of truth in their overall lie; yes he has been contacted by a Harvard professor. The bigger lie is that Harvard is working with him on a course about Entrepreneurialism. This is not a course around him, this is a case study. He is one of several players.”
