Israel is unlikely to build nuclear power plants following the tragedy in Japan, Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu said in an interview with CNN. “I don’t think we’re going to pursue civil nuclear energy in the coming years,” said the prime minister, explaining that the Japanese situation has caused him to “reconsider the projects of building civil nuclear power plants.” Israel created a plan for a nuclear energy plant to be located in the Negev several years ago but it has yet come into fruition.
