The following news, according to Boy Genius Report – can’t be filed under the “Saturday rumors” category. BGR says of having it “on good authority” that starting November 15 Walmart (WMT) will begin selling Apple’s (AAPL) iPhone 3G.
Walmart will be the second nationwide retailer after Best Buy (BBY) to join iPhone’s distribution list as the Cupertino-based company moves away from its “selective” iPhone distribution model. The move will put the popular gadget for sale in towns and suburbs where it hasn’t been available and suggests that Apple is boosting its inventory ahead of Black Friday and the Christmas shopping season.
The pending arrival of the iPhone 3G in Walmart stores may be a signal that iPhone shortages are easing.
