Netflix (NFLX) just announced the appointment of company finance veteran David Wells as its chief financial officer to succeed outgoing and long-time CFO Barry McCarthy, who the co. says “has expressed a desire to pursue broader executive opportunities outside the company.”
Mr. McCarthy has served as CFO of Netflix since 1999 and led the company’s IPO in 2002.
Netflix said change is effective December 10.
NFLX shares fell $10.85, or 5.6%, to $182.62 in extended trading.
