Afghans are withdrawing their savings from struggling Kabul Bank at a record pace despite attempts by central bank officials to reassure nervous depositors that their money was safe. According to the WSJ, Afghani depositors withdrew $180 million on Wednesday and Thursday — that’s more than a third of the $500 million the bank had on hand before the onset of the crisis — and even Saturday the run continued.
