Japan conveyed its desire to see a more flexible yuan during its annual high-level economic dialogue with China held Saturday, a Japanese Ministry of Finance official said. The Japanese delegation, which included Finance Minister Yoshihiko Noda, “made clear its expectations that [China] will steadily move forward with efforts to make [the yuan] flexible” through Beijing’s new currency system, the Japanese official said at a news briefing. – WSJ
