Apple Inc. (AAPL) is in takeover talks with Chinese game software maker Handseeing, an executive at the China-based company told Reuters. Based in southwest China’s Sichuan province, Handseeing designs online games based on Chinese folklore.
“We should have a decision in about one or two months,” Tian Bo, vice-president for operations told the wire service. “They’re still talking about it and it’s not quite settled yet right now.” Bo declined to give further details on the deal, and Apple had no comment.
If realised, the deal would mark the iPhone maker’s first acquisition in the country.
Apple has nearly $46 billion in cash, the biggest cash hoard among U.S. tech companies.
