30-Year Mortgage Rate Hits 4.49%, Lowest on Record

Freddie Mac said Thursday that the average rate for 30-year fixed loans this week hit 4.49 percent, down from the prior week’s 4.54% average and from 5.22% y/y. That’s the lowest since Freddie Mac began tracking rates in 1971.
