BP’s Florida Cleanup Promise Dismissed as Dishonest

BP Plc’s promises to spare no effort helping northwest Florida grapple with the Gulf of Mexico oil spill were dismissed as dishonest by an official of a coastal county struggling to clean tar from its beaches. “That’s absolutely false,” said Gene Valentino, a commissioner for Escambia County, which includes Pensacola Beach.
