South Korea on Thursday accused the North of sinking its warship, Cheonan, last March, saying the evidence was overwhelming. A joint civilian and military investigation team, that included experts from the US, Australia, Britain and Sweden, concluded that a North Korean submarine fired the torpedo that sank the Cheonan corvette, killing 46 sailors.
