General Motors has reported its first quarterly profit since 2007, despite a $500 million loss at its European operations, which include Opel and Vauxhall plants in the UK. The company, which entered and exited bankruptcy last year in only 40 days, reported an operating profit of $1.2 billion for the three months ending March 31, as global revenues rose 40 per cent to $31.5 billion – Timesonline
