Monsanto Company (MON) is set to report its fiscal second-quarter 2016 earnings before the markets open. Analysts expect the provider of agricultural products for farmers worldwide to report EPS of $2.44 and revenue of $4.76 billion. That would be $2.55 higher the ($0.11) per share posted last quarter and $0.46 lower the $2.90 posted in the Q215. EarningsWhisper.com reports a whisper number of $2.45 per share.
As a quick reminder, Monsanto reported 1Q16 EPS loss of ($0.11), $0.11 better than the Street’s consensus estimate of ($0.22). Revs came in flat year-over-year to $2.22 billion versus the $2.41 billion consensus.
Monsanto Co. recently traded at $86.10, a loss of $0.56 over Tuesday’s closing price. The name has a current market capitalization of $37.91 billion.
As for passive income investors, the company pays shareholders $2.16 per share annually in dividends, yielding 2.46%. Five year average dividend yield currently stands at 1.59%.
Update: Monsanto reported earnings of $2.42 per share on revenues of $4.53 billion, down 12.8% from a year ago.
