According to a BuzzFeed report that references sources familiar with Cupertino’s plans, Apple (AAPL) intends to hold its annual fall iPhone event on September 9th. The publication claims the tech giant is targeting the week of Sept. 7th for the event, with Wednesday the 9th standing as the most likely date right now.
This year’s rumored release date is the same as last year’s, when Apple unveiled the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
At the event, Apple is expected to unveil two follow-up devices to their iPhone 6s, which will sport – among other features – pressure-sensitive Force Touch display, brand-new Apple A9 chipset, faster LTE and improved cameras.
In addition to the new iPhone, the report says that Apple’s slimmer and more powerful Apple TV unit could also be announced. Apple’s web TV service, however, is not currently expected to be showcased at the September 9th event.
Finally, the report claims Apple is expected to show off new iPads, although it notes that the 12.9-inch “iPad Pro” is still a ‘wildcard’ and may be unveiled at a later event.
