According to a Tuesday DigiTimes report that references sources from the upstream supply chain, Apple (AAPL) has adjusted its supply ratio for the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 plus as demand for the latter appears much stronger than expected.
The sources pointed out to the publication that the iPhone 6’s shipments in the second half of the year are expected to be 3-4 million units lower than previously expected, as some iPhone 6 production capacity gradually shifts to the 6 Plus. The report noted however, that the retail channel will not see any immediate changes in iPhone 6 Plus supply since it will take some time for the adjustments to start affecting retail.
The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus will also be available to purchase in China on October 17. According to reports, pre-orders from the country have already surpassed 6 million units.
