If you have been hoping for your very own Google Glass, Tuesday April 15, could be your lucky day.
Google announced on Thursday that it’s Glass product will be made available for purchase in the U.S. next week. For one day only Google (GOOGL) will give any adult in the U.S. a chance to become a “Glass Explorer”, as the search giant calls folks who have been trying out the 49-gram wearable computing device.
“Any adult in the US can become an Explorer by visiting our site and purchasing Glass for $1,500 + tax—and it now comes with your favorite shade or frame, thanks to feedback from our current Explorers,” the company said in a blog post Thursday.
Expecting to be inundated with requests, Google says that the supply available in its newly extended Glass Explorer Program is limited, so you better “mark your calendar if you want to get in.”
Sales start at 9 a.m. ET, but people can sign up now with Google to receive a reminder. Unfortunately, this offer is only for the U.S.
“To everyone outside the US… we know. Sorry :( We’re just not ready yet to bring Glass to other countries”, the company said.
