Daytona..this thread's for you.

You said this yesterday in the shoutbox but I was asleep.

"serious question.. noob investor , me how should i be throwing around my initial 4k"

Here's the SERIOUS answer for ya. You should throw it DIRECTLY into a 3 month CD, or Money Market account...

Then, paper trade...check out this forum often, feel free to ask questions, pay CLOSE attention to what Ron and Lambo have to say..and see how that paper trading is working out for you in 3 months.

Seriously, Wall Street Pit is great BUT there's a lot of risk involved. You could find yourself out $4,000 in a DAY if you're inexperienced, no joke. Even if someone calls it right, if you don't trade it expertly you could still lose, and lose big.

Good luck, bro!

Good thread, I'll also add that from what I understood, Daytona was looking into investing and not daytrading like what's practiced on this forum. I'd look into what ron calls "multi-session" plays. Myself, I've been looking more and more into Canadian Small Caps. With the demand increasing for primary ressources in China, Canada's wealth is only going to grow for the next 25 to 50 years. In Quebec only, Hydro-Quebec accounts for a 130 Billion dollar worth of clean renewable energy and it's only growing every year. A good example is also the Albertan Oil sands which are believed to be the 2nd biggest deposit in the world. Add minerals and you have a good investement opportunity. Just watch out for the ressource prices, those companies pretty much depend on it.
