School me on stops and related strategies please :)

Hey guys!

I've been out of the game for a little while now due to some heavy losses a few months back. I have some capital rebuilt and I am ready to get back into trading.

One of my weaknesses has always been the utilization of stops. I would like to hear some of your opinions and strategies on this topic.

Most of my heavy losses have resulted from a failure to use stops, so now I need to go into each purchase with a more detailed plan how large my losses can be before I sell off -- a stop, of course, is the easiest way to do this.

Looking forward to some feedback

thanks!

- alex

Ron can delete this if he wants to since it can be seen as advertisement. But got on Hot stock market forums and then to the University section. Theres a thread made by poster chan that explains it perfectly.
