Futures hold positive bias. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that holiday sales appear to be coming in with decent, though modest, gains compared to last year. Once again, the fears of a consumer pullback were unfounded.

Dow up 71 Points, Naz +8.32, S&P +7.01, NDX +5.75 rtq.

Naz just took out its 50day SMA/ Friday's 2692.00 high off the open...printing 2,701.15

it's being reported that Merrill Lynch has enhanced its capital position by reaching agreements to raise up to $6.2 billion of newly issued common stock.

Stocks keep gaining into today's half session... Oil is little changed @ mid 92 levels... and there is little corporate news. The market closes at 1:00 ET today....Dow up 90 Points, Naz +13.61, S&P +8.97, NDX +11.07 rtq.

Stocks push higher as news that Merrill Lynch is getting up to $6.2 billion infusion through sale of equity stake to Singapore government owned Temasek Holdings and to Davis Selected Advisors has given financials a boost.......Dow along with the rest of mkrts maintain firm gains through first hour of trade, currently @ 13,528.12 +77 Points, Naz +13.66, S&P +8.17, NDX +11.49 rtq.
