Selling pressure pushes the indices lower, as the financial (-2.3%) and tech (-4.5%) sectors continue to lag. Dow Jones reports that Bernanke believes $150 billion in eventual subprime losses are 'in the ballpark.'
Storage stocks:
* Brocade is down 85 cents, or 9.3%, at $8.32.
* QLogic is down 30 cents, or 2%, at $14.79.
* Emulex is down 47 cents, or 2.4%, at $19.26.
* EMC is down $1.98, or 8.9%, at $20.26.
* Network Appliance is down $2.45, or 8.4%, at $26.69.
Networking stocks:
* F5 is down $1.87, or 5.2%, at $33.86.
* Riverbed is down $3.70, or 11.6%, at $28.25.
* Juniper (JNPR) is down $1.64, or 4.8%, at $32.48.
Contract manufacturers:
* Flextronics is down 39 cents, or 3%, at $12.85.
* Celestica is down 24 cents, or 3.4%, at $6.89.
* Smart Modular is down 26 cents, or 3.2%, at $7.89.
* Jabil is down 92 cents, or 4.4%, at $20.05.
Other major enterprise tech players:
* Oracle is down $1.79, or 8.1%, at $20.31.
* IBM is down $4.56, or 4.1%, at $106.52.
* Symantec is down 18 cents, or 1%, at $17.11.
* SAP (SAP) is down 85 cents, or 1.6%, at $52.32.
* Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) is down $3.03, or 5.9%, at $48.79.

major indices are off their lows, but continue to post substantial losses. The S&P 500 Retailing Index (-2.2%) is a laggard following unimpressive October retailing same-store sales....Dow -135 Points, Naz -72.26 rtq.
