Market this Monday 10/8

Business software maker SAP has agreed to acquire rival Business Objects [BOBJ], in a deal valued at $6.8 billion in cash while Textron agreed to buy United Industrial for $1.1 billion tops the news.....Earnings will be in focus this week since companies will report starting tomorrow and mid-November....Dow negative -8.21, Naz up 2.65

Eight of the ten economic sectors are in the red thus far. The only sectors showing gains are utilities and technology. The energy and financial sectors are the main laggards.....Dow red 12.85 Points, Naz +3.18 rtq

indices have been choppy since the last update. The S&P and Dow continue to trade in negative territory, while Naz is now holding on to slight gains.....Dow -15.69, Naz 1.70

Naz briefly hit the unchanged mark, before a new round of selling interest pushed the major indices lower. The Dow and S&P are now trading close to their intraday lows.....Dow -47.56 Points , Naz - 4.23 14,019.84 2,776.13 rspectvly.

not any catalyst out there in relation to mkrts being in the red...some profit taking combined w/Columbus Day are making this session steer to the bearish side with decliners claiming breadth so far....Dow -48.29, Naz -4.53
