Market this Monday 7/.24

no earnings reports or economic news to report since none are scheduled for the session. Dow Jones gets a boost from General Motors, which is up $0.91 to $35.84 on possible conclusion to talks with the UAW. Nasdaq is higher as Microsoft is up $0.34 to $28.98 ahead of Halo 3 release. later this week, reports is expected on existing home sales, new home sales, durable goods orders, second-quarter gross domestic product....Dow negatvie of 6.18 Points Nas up 0.57 rtq.

Indices keeping tight range and. Oil is off $0.76 to $81.05 a barrel as feared weather problems in the Gulf did not materialize this wknd.....Dow red 6.02 Points Naz even.

Dow into positive territory gaining 40 Points currently to the upside after dipping into the red....S&P turns positive as well, reflecting resilience to early selling pressures.....rtq Dow + 40 Naz up 17...advancers claiming breadth with ease.

Indices are sustaining their gains rejecting selling pressures and therefore reducing their power to overtake the breadth...Dow up 45 Points Naz up 18.34 rtq.

homebuilders are showing again weakness today related to news that Standard Pacific [SPF $7.14, - $0.95] has eliminated its quarterly dividend in a bid to pay down debt....group is basically feeling the impact, needless to say.....Dow btwn up 29.02 Points Naz up 17.68 rtq.
