Kamil Yilmaz

Kamil Yılmaz is Associate Professor of Economics at Koç University. He received B.A. in Economics from Boğaziçi University in 1987, M.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1990 and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1992.

After receiving his Ph.D., he worked in the Research Department of the World Bank in Washington D.C between 1992 and 1994. He has been a faculty member at Koç University since 1994. In 2003-2004 academic year, he was a Visiting Professor at the University of Pennsylvania.He received the Encouragement Award in the Social Sciences and Humanities from the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) in 2003.

His areas of expertise include foreign trade policies and development, productivity and competitiveness in the manufacturing industry, foreign direct investments; currency markets, international capital flows and financial crises; stabilization policies and political economy.He is a member of the American Economic Association, the Econometric Society and the Turkish Economic Association.

His academic research has been supported by TESEV, TÜBİTAK, TÜSİAD, TÜSİAD-Koç University Economic Research Forum, the World Bank, and the Economic Research Forum for Arab countries, Iran and Turkey.
