Breaking: Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway reports sharply higher quarterly earnings. The co. reported second-quarter net income of $3.3 billion, or $2,123 per Class A equivalent share, up 14% y/y when the conglomerate made $2.88 billion, or $1,859 per Class A equivalent share. Operating earnings, which exclude investment and derivatives gains and losses, were $1.78 billion, or $1,147 per Class A equivalent share, down from $2.27 billion, or $1,465 per Class A equivalent share, in the same period a year earlier.
