China Books its 1st Quarterly Trade Deficit in 6 yrs

China booked a trade deficit in the first quarter this year, its first quarterly deficit in six years, the General Administration of Customs announced on Sunday. However, the exact size of the Q1 trade deficit was in question.The Customs Administration reported a Q1 deficit of $1.02 bln. However, the addition of the $6.45 bln trade surplus in January, the $7.31 bln trade deficit in February and the $140 mln trade surplus reported for March in tabular material release Sunday add up to a Q1 trade deficit of about $720 mln. – iMarketNews
