Dow Chemical Co. said Wednesday it would shut down “a number” of manufacturing plants to help achieve $1.3 billion in cost cutting related to its acquisition of Rohm & Haas Co. The Midland, Mich., chemical giant said that by closing down the plants it expects to save more than $100 million annually.
