UN Security Council Agrees On Libya No-Fly Zone

AFP reports that UN Security Council members have agreed on a draft resolution to implement a no-fly zone over Libya. The decision will be brought up for a vote later in the day. Earlier the U.S. said the UN Security Council should consider more than a no-fly zone over Libya. [via Reuters] “We are discussing very seriously and leading efforts in the Council around a range of actions that we believe could be effective in protecting civilians,” U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice told reporters. “The US view is that we need to be prepared to contemplate steps that include but perhaps go beyond a no-fly zone.”
