Freddie Mac’s COO Quits

Freddie Mac (FMCC.OB) the troubled mortgage finance company that was bailed-out by the US government, said that its chief operating officer was resigning immediately for “personal reasons”. In a filing with the SEC late on Wednesday, the lender said Bruce Witherell, who joined Freddie in August 2009, would leave without any termination benefits in line with the policy in place since the company was nationalized in 2008. – FT
