Gasparino: Jeff Immelt Will Continue to Lobby the White House for GE Business Interests

FBN’s Charlie Gasparino reports on the controversy surrounding General Electric (GE) CEO Jeffrey Immelt’s decision to join the Obama administration as the chairperson for a new economic advisory panel. A source within GE tells FBN that Immelt “will not use his new White House role to lobby for GE” but he “will continue to lobby the White House for GE business interests.”

Excerpt from the report, courtesy of Fox Business Network:

On whether there is a conflict of interest with GE CEO Jeff Immelt chairing President Obama’s economic advisory panel:

“GE has told FBN Immelt will not use his new White House role to lobby for GE. GE has also told FBN Immelt will continue to lobby the White House for GE business interests. The White House has no comment on this.”
