Initial Claims decreased to 404,000, for the week ending 01/15, the largest decline since February 2010, against the expected decrease to 419,000, after increasing to 441,000, the revised level for the previous week. The 4-week moving average decreased to 411,750, from the previous week’s revised average of 415,750. Seasonally adjusted insured unemployment from the prior week, ending on 01/08, was 3,861,000, a decrease of 26,000 from the preceding week’s revised level of 3,887,000. Seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate from the week ending on 01/08, was 3.1%, unchanged from the previous week’s unrevised figure of 3.1%.
