Broadcom Receives Favorable Ruling in Patent Infringement Case Against Emulex

Broadcom Corp. (BRCM) today announced it has received a favorable claim construction ruling in Broadcom’s patent infringement case against Emulex Corporation (ELX).

“The ruling reinforces our infringement case against Emulex’s OneConnect, and the components used in Emulex’s OneConnect, HBAs, and Fibre Channel switch products,” the company said in a statement. Broadcom, which has accused Emulex of infringing nine Broadcom patents, is seeking damages and an injunction against Emulex. ”

Broadcom has asserted that Emulex’s products infringe at least twenty claims of nine Broadcom patents.

At last check, Broadcom shares were down 25 cents, or 0.77%, to $43.76.
