ECB Boosts Its Capital Reserves

The European Central Bank [ECB] said Thursday it will nearly double its capital reserves, a step that had been expected as a way for the bank to maintain its integrity as its holdings in European government bonds increase. The ECB said the increase in capital to €10.76 billion, or $14.2 billion, from €5.76 billion, is the first such increase in 12 years. – The NYT
