Construction Spending Edges Up in September

Construction spending in the U.S. unexpectedly rose in September, led by increases in homebuilding and public projects. The 0.5% gain brought spending to $801.7 billion after a revised 0.2% drop in August that was previously reported as a 0.4% gain, Commerce Dept. figures showed today in Washington. – Bloomberg
