On Nov. 25, 2008 the Fed initiated a program to purchase the securities of Fannie & Freddie along with mortgage backed securities (MBS) . Well, that program ends today. And with the Fed set to halt its purchases, the question now is whether the private sector will step into the mortgage market. Also today, the Fed is ending consumer credit side of TALF program.
