Republican Sen. John McCain and Democratic Sen. Maria Cantwell want to break up large financial firms involved in both commercial and investment banking. The legislation would strike directly at institutions such as Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Citigroup, Bank of America and Wells Fargo.
