Unemployment rose in 29 U.S. states in October, climbing to record levels in California, Delaware, South Carolina and Florida, government figures released today showed. Michigan had the highest jobless rate at 15.1%, followed by Nevada at 135 and Rhode Island at 12.9%, the DOL said in Washington.
