Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said Thursday that the government will likely have to put in less capital than it expected to troubled consumer lender GMAC Financial Services Inc., which is seeking its third taxpayer funded bailout. The U.S. government is in discussions to inject between $2.8 billion to $5.6 billion of capital into the Detroit co.
