Global Asset Class Performance Chart (Oct 12-Oct 16)

Here is last week’s performance of different major global financial markets:

Crude Oil is this week’s commodity investment leader. As the chart above illustrates, the rise in oil prices has led many investors to place a growing share of their assets in this segment of the commodities universe, prompting Crude to dominate the list’s performance spectrum convincingly by gaining 9.4%, followed by Commodity futures, EMs, S&P 500, Global Stocks, and Dow, 4.0%, 2.1%, 1.5%, 1.5%, and 1.3%, respectively. Excluding EMs bonds, greenback, and REIT’s 0.5%,0.6, and 1.3 percentage point deterioration, the rest of the investments gained.

Significant improvements continue to being seen on the chart’s year-over-year return basis. EMs remain as the list’s asset class leader with over 70% in positive returns.
