Here is a List of Things Apple (AAPL) Forgot to Mention During Wednesday’s Event

Apple just held its 2016 Product Launch Event. We heard a lot of good news. But, there were some things lacking. Here’s a list of what to look forward to from Apple.

apple iPhone 7

Apple Inc‘s (NASDAQ:AAPL) long awaited Product Launch Event culminated with the release of the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. These new handheld devices come equipped with bigger storage capacity, enhanced cameras and improved battery life. Also, the early ‘rumors’ were right about the new models not having headphone jacks.

Other interesting announcements from Apple include the new and improved versions of the Apple Watch. Those from the Generation X will be excited to learn that Super Mario will finally be available for iPhone.

All these are great but most people were probably expecting more. Well don’t worry, there are other things that Apple didn’t announce during Wednesday’s event but we might be getting them in less than a year from now.

Three New iPad Models

There have been reports that three new iPads will be released before 2018 ends. The first is the iPad Pro. It will measure 10.5 inches and is targeted for those who prefer mid-sized tablets. A more expensive iPad Pro 2 model will also come out with a 12.9 screen display. For those on a budget, there’s the 9.7 inch iPad that comes with the same flash. The more exciting part about these new iPads is the OLED technology that is said to be included in the next iPhone that will be released next year.

MacBook Reboot

Bloomberg already reported earlier that there wouldn’t be a released of new MacBooks at Apple’s event. The recent updates to the 12-inch MacBook laptop have been modest. The performance and battery life have improved but it still uses an outdated processor. Apple is practically selling a four-year-old product which means other companies have produced better laptops. Tech experts say Apple is already working on getting new processors from Intel for the new MacBook Pros that will be available early 2017.

Enhanced Virtual or Augmented Reality

Top tech giants are all fighting in the quest to be the best in VR and AR technology. Apple has been lagging behind in this competition BUT knowing Apple, they will never allow themselves to lose in terms of technological advancements.

Some say the dual cameras on iPhone 7 Plus was made for better augmented reality type applications. Apple already owns dozens of VR patents and this shows that the company is working on something big in the virtual reality realm. The company is known for holding out on specifics until they have perfected the technology they are working on.

Wireless Battery Charging

Apple may finally release devices that allow wireless battery charging. This feature is a welcome add-on especially for those who are always on the go. Users can enjoy the convenience of charging their gadgets without worrying about being stuck near electric sockets. Early this year, Bloomberg reported that Cupertino has put long distance charging on the top of their ‘To Do’ list.

Perfected AMOLED

Everyone was surprised when news came out that Apple ordered 40 million AMOLED (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode) screens from Samsung. Well, everyone was expecting too that this new feature will be available for the iPhone 7 versions. Sadly, this isn’t the case.

There are speculations that Apple is still trying to find a way to embed iPhone’s home button on the screen or make it part of the display panel. Some say this may be available for the next iPhone but there are already reports that the 2018 iPad may have it.
