Global Asset Class Performance Chart (Oct 7- Oct 11)

Here is last week’s performance of different major global financial markets:

R2K is this week’s asset class leader. As the chart above illustrates, the small-cap segment of the US equity universe dominated the performance spectrum convincingly, gaining 6.0%, followed by REITs, S&P 500, Global Stocks, Naz, and Gold, 4.5%, 4.5%, 4.5%, 4.5% and 4.4%, respectively. Excluding U.S. bonds’ 0.6%, and greenback’s 1.4% percentage point deterioration, the rest of the investments gained.

Significant improvements are also being seen on the chart’s year-over-year return basis. EMs have emerged as the list’s asset class leader with nearly 60% in positive returns.
