Earnings Whisper : Qualcomm (QCOM), American Express (AXP), Yum! Brands (YUM), F5 Networks (FFIV)

Qualcomm Incorporated (QCOM) is set to announce its Q216 earnings today after the close. Analysts expect the developer of digital communications products and services to report EPS of $0.96 and revenue of $5.34 billion. That would be $0.01 lower the $0.97 per share posted last quarter and $0.44 lower the $1.40 posted in the Q215. Revenue is projected to be $1.56 billion lower than the $6.9 billion posted in the same period a year earlier. Meanwhile, EarningsWhisper.com reports a whisper number of $1.02 per share.

As a quick reminder, Qualcomm reported Q116 EPS of $0.97, $0.06 better than the Street’s consensus estimate of $0.91.

QCOM is currently printing a lower than average trading volume with the issue trading 4.03M shares, compared to the average volume of 11.69M. The name began trading this morning at $51.93 to now trade 1.14% higher from the prior days close of $51.83. On an intraday basis ticker has gotten as low as $51.81 and as high as $52.54.

American Express Company (AXP) is scheduled to release Q116 earnings after the close today. The Street is looking for EPS of $1.35 and revenue of $7.99 billion. Last quarter, the credit card company posted a significant positive earnings surprise of 8.85%, reporting EPS of $1.23, $0.10 better than the Street’s consensus estimate of $1.13. Revs came in at $8.39 billion.

EarningsWhisper.com reports a 1Q16 whisper number of $1.37 per share.

Yum! Brands, Inc. (YUM) is scheduled to report Q116 results after the market close today. The Street has consensus estimates of $0.83 in earnings per share and $2.66 billion in revenue. In the Q1 of the previous year, the operator of quick service restaurants posted $0.80 in EPS and $2.62 billion in revenue. Meanwhile, EarningsWhisper.com reports a whisper number of $0.85 per share.

Last quarter/Q415, YUM reported EPS of $0.68, $0.02 better than the Street’s consensus estimate of $0.66. Revs declined 1.25% on a year-over-year basis to $3.95 billion vs the $4.02 billion consensus.

F5 Networks, Inc. (FFIV) is scheduled to report Q216 results tonight after the bell with a conference call to follow at 4:30 p.m. ET. Wall Street analysts are on average expecting FFIV to post $485.93 million in sales during the quarter. This would show a 0.73% decrease from the Q116 revenue of $489.5 million and an increase of 2.93% from the same period in Q215. EPS in Q216 are expected to come in at $1.63, a growth rate of 2.51% from $1.59 per share a year earlier. Meanwhile, EarningsWhisper.com reports a Q216 whisper number of $1.65 per share.

As a quick reminder, FFIV reported Q116 EPS of $1.73, $0.13 better than the Street’s consensus estimate. Revs increased 5.77% YoY to $489.5 million versus the $485.51 million consensus.
