Morning Buzz: Facebook (FB), SunEdison (SUNE), Urban Outfitters (URBN), SolarCity (SCTY)

Facebook (FB) — Facebook CSO Alex Stamos said the social networking giant is discussing ways to authenticate users even after their devices have been lost, stolen, or destroyed.

Shares of SunEdison, Inc. (SUNE) are higher by 12.37% to $2.13 in morning trading on Tuesday after rooftop panel installer Vivint Solar (VSLR) terminated its $1.9 billion merger agreement with SunEdison. SUNE’s trading volume jumped on the news with the issue currently trading more than 55 million shares, compared to the average daily volume of 47 million.

Urban Outfitters Inc. (URBN) shares surged 13.10% to $31.85 in early trading following the company’s bottom-line beat in the fourth quarter.

The Philadelphia-based retail chain posted earnings of $0.61 per share on revenues of $1.01 billion, up 0.2% from a year ago. Analysts were expecting EPS of $0.56 on revenues of $1.02 billion.

SolarCity Corporation (SCTY) shares climbed 4.05% to $25.17 in morning trading after the company and Whole Foods (WFM) announced plans to install solar power systems on 100 locations across the U.S.
