Morning Buzz: Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.B), Apple (AAPL), API Technologies (ATNY), Lumber Liquidators (LL)

Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A), (BRK.B) — Warren Buffett’s conglomerate said Q4 operating earnings came in at $2843.00 per share, $29.11 better than Wall Street’s consensus of $2813.89 a share. Revenue jumped 7% YoY to $51.82 billion.

Buffett also released his co.’s annual letter to shareholders.

Shares of Apple Inc. (AAPL) are higher by 0.84% to $97.72 in morning trading on Monday. CEO Tim Cook said Friday the iPhone maker is committed to a rise in its annual dividend. While the news is a positive one for Apple investors, it’s also a sign that the Cupertino-based company may no longer be a growth stock.

API Technologies Corp. (ATNY) shares spiked 93.07% to $1.95 in early trading after the company announced its acquisition by an affiliate of private equity firm J.F. Lehman & Co for $2.00 a share in cash. The cash consideration represents a premium of 98% to API’s closing PPS on Feb.26, 2016. The transaction is expected to close in the 2Q16.

Lumber Liquidators Holdings, Inc. (LL) shares are down more than 6% to $10.38 in morning trading Monday after the company reported a weak fourth quarter earnings results.

The hardwood flooring company posted earnings of ($0.73) per share on revenues of $234.8 million, down 13.7% from a year ago. Analysts were expecting EPS of ($0.20) on revenues of $251.27 million.
