Morning Buzz: Ford Motors (F), pSivida Corp. (PSDV), Alexza (ALXA), Valeant (VRX)

Alphabet (GOOG) is said to be in talks with Ford (F) to help build the search giant’s next-gen autonomous cars, Automotive News reported, citing a person with knowledge of the project.

The deal, if finalized, could be announced as early as the week of Jan. 4 during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, according to the news service.

Shares of pSivida Corp. (PSDV) are higher by nearly 43% to $5.29 in pre-market trading on Tuesday after the company today announced positive topline results from its first Phase 3 clinical trial evaluating the safety and efficacy of Medidur for the treatment of chronic noninfectious uveitis affecting the posterior of the eye (posterior uveitis).

Alexza Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ALXA) shares spiked 43.51% to $1.26 in pre-market trading following interim results of its Phase 2a study of AZ-002 in epilepsy patients. AZ-002 produced a dose-related decrease in mean SPR, the primary endpoint in the study.

Valeant Pharmaceuticals Int’l, Inc. (VRX) — The Canadian-based drugmaker is taking a $150 million revenue hit on its 20-year distribution deal with Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA), according to The Wall Street Journal.
