Top Point Gainers: Tesla (TSLA), Avago Technologies (AVGO), Sanderson Farms (SAFM)

Shares of Tesla Motors, Inc. (TSLA) gained nearly 4 points in early trade following comments from Chilean newspaper Pulso that Tesla is mulling a lithium venture with state miner Codelco.

Shares of Avago Technologies Limited (AVGO) are higher by 13.28 points to $145.28 in midday trading on Thursday. The Singapore-based semiconductor company reported 4Q15 adjusted EPS of $2.51 on revenue of $1.85 billion after yesterday’s market close. The Street expected Avago to earn $2.38 a share on $1.85 billion in revenue. Midway through today’s trading, 7.79 million shares of AVGO have exchanged hands as compared to its average daily volume of 3.29 million shares.

Sanderson Farms, Inc. (SAFM) shares surged more than 5 points to $76.10 in midday trading. Not seeing any news or rumors to account for the move. The name is currently printing a higher than average trading volume with the issue trading 706K shares, compared to the average volume of 317K. The stock began trading this morning at $74 to currently trade 7.56% higher from the prior days close of $70.66. On an intraday basis it has gotten as low as $73.36 and as high as $76.71.
