Morning Buzz: Apple (AAPL), Valeant Pharmaceuticals (VRX), Xerox (XRX), Aeterna Zentaris (AEZS)

Apple Inc. (AAPL) — Cupertino plans to launch Apple Pay, its mobile payments and digital wallet service, in China by early February, according to the Wall Street Journal. Apple has struck deals recently with China’s big four state-run banks, the report said.

Shares of Apple are declining 0.51% to $117.15 in Tuesday’s pre-market trading session.

Shares of Valeant Pharmaceuticals Int’l, Inc. (VRX) were up nearly 3% this morning after activist hedge fund manager Bill Ackman disclosed an increased 9.9% stake in the embattled drugmaker that has seen its shares tumble 60% over the past three months.

Shares of Xerox Corporation (XRX) are higher by 2.23% to $10.99 in pre-market trading on Tuesday after billionaire investor Carl Icahn disclosed a 7.13 percent stake in the company, saying the name is undervalued and that he may seek board seats.

Aeterna Zentaris Inc. (AEZS) shares surged 35.80% to $11.57 in pre-market trading. The company this morning announced remaining 11K post-share consolidation series B common share purchase warrants were exercised, which will result in the issuance of 365,518 additional common shares.
