Sallie Krawcheck, the former chairman and CEO of Citigroup’s (NYSE:C) global wealth management unit, said during a CNBC interview she won’t do “stupid things” to *pay policies that might prompt financial advisers to leave Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) where she heads the global wealth and investment management arm.

Krawcheck also dismissed speculation that she is prone to making changes that alter the culture at the Merrill Lynch unit — which BofA bought earlier this year — as groundless.

“We are not doing any of that stuff,” Krawcheck, 44, said, referring to changes in compensation and speculation that she would “smash U.S. Trust and Merrill Lynch together.”

During the interview Krawcheck also dodged questions on the company’s succession planning after Ken Lewis’ resignation, and her possible place in it, steering the conversation repeatedly back to the brokerage operation.
