Notable Downgrades: Barracuda Networks (CUDA), QLogic Corp. (QLGC), Coty Inc. (COTY), Alcoa (AA)

Barracuda Networks, Inc. (CUDA) was reiterated an ‘Outperform’ by Imperial Capital analysts on Friday. The broker however, cut its price target on the stock to $47 from $52.

On valuation measures, Barracuda Networks Inc. shares havet-12 price/sales ratio of 7.46. EPS is ($1.30). Currently there are 11 analysts that rate CUDA a ‘Buy‘, 1 rates it a ‘Hold‘. No analyst rates it a ‘Sell‘. CUDA has a median Wall Street price target of $48.00 with a high target of $55.00.

QLogic Corp. (QLGC) was reiterated as ‘Buy’ with a $17 from $19 price target on Friday by Argus. The broker noted the setback for QLogic comes at a challenging time for tech industry participants. Volatility in overseas markets, particularly in Asia, has impacted demand.

QLGC is up $0.43 at $11.43 on heavy volume. Midway through trading Friday, 2.01 million shares of QLogic Corp. have exchanged hands as compared to its average daily volume of 1.06 million shares. The stock has ranged in a price between $10.91 to $11.55 after having opened the day at $10.91 as compared to the previous trading day’s close of $11.00.

In the past 52 weeks, shares of Aliso Viejo, California-based company have traded between a low of $8.70 and a high of $15.93. Shares are up 7.21% year-over-year ; down 17.42% year-to-date.

Coty Inc. (COTY) had its rating lowered from ‘Outperform‘ to ‘Market Perform‘ by analysts at Wells Fargo (WFC) on Friday. Currently there are 3 analysts that rate COTY a ‘Buy‘, 1 analyst rates it a ‘Sell‘, and 5 rate it a ‘Hold‘.

COTY was down $0.91 at $29.13 in midday trade,  versus $30.04 close, moving within a 52-week range of $15.74 to $32.72. The name, valued at $10.50 billion, opened at $29.55.

On valuation measures, Coty Inc. Cl A shares are currently priced at 55.70x this year’s forecasted earnings. Ticker has a t-12 price/sales ratio of 2.45. EPS for the same period registers at $0.52.

As for passive income investors, the firm pays stockholders $0.20 per share annually in dividends, yielding 0.60%.

Alcoa Inc. (AA) was reiterated as ‘Buy’ at Argus in a research report issued to clients on Friday. They currently have a $16 price objective on the stock, 4 points lower from their previous price target of $20.

AA closed at $10.59 on Thursday and is currently trading up $0.03.

In the past 52 weeks, shares of New York-based aluminum producer have traded between a low of $10.39 and a high of $17.75 and are now trading at $10.62. Shares are down 31.99% year-over-year and 32.66% year-to-date.
