Orders placed with U.S. factories rose less than forecast in July. Bookings gained 1.3% after a revised 0.9% increase in June that was larger than previously estimated, the Commerce Dept said today in Washington. The 1.9% decrease in orders for non-durable goods, which may reflect lower prices, was the biggest this year.
